Food security exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life. Household food security is the application of this concept at the family level, with individuals within households as the focus of concern.

The United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID) is financing a series of research and consultancy projects with the purpose of increasing, disseminating and mainstreaming the knowledge and good practice base for the development and management of community and rural access.

USAID Announces IT Partnership in Vietnam USAID announced that $1.3 million in public and private resources from USAID, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Electricity of Vietnam, and Centre for Research and Consulting on Management (Hanoi University of Technology) will be used to create ICT-supported Community Technology and Learning Centers in each of Vietnam's 64 provinces over the next 24 months.
